Leigh Ann is a dedicated yogi with a passion for teaching and promoting wellness. In August 2017, Leigh Ann completed her 200-hour teacher training at Cary Hot Yoga where she studied the Bishnu Ghosh lineage. Leigh Ann has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University and a masters in clinical social work from NYU. She is a practicing psychotherapist and works at a local university hospital providing emergency psychiatric assessments and treatment in the ER. She has completed post-graduate training in dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness based stress reduction. These evidence-based practices incorporate cognitive therapy with mindfulness, meditation, and body movement for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, insomnia and emotion regulation. Leigh Ann has also received training in clinical aromatherapy and uses essential oils to promote healing and enhance well-being. Leigh Ann’s teaching is rooted in compassion and her goal is to empower people to enhance self-awareness, increase mental and physical strength, and to find and embrace their best selves.
